Tomáš Němec began his involvement in fashion during his time at the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Uherské Hradiště. He is now a recent graduate of the Fashion and Footwear Design Studio at UMPRUM in Prague, under the guidance of Professor Liběna Rochová. He gained attention in the Van Graaf Junior Talent 2022 competition for young designers, where he emerged victorious with a collection inspired by the film "Lux Æterna" by director Gaspar Noé.
Tomáš rarely works with abstract themes in his creations. Instead, his sources of inspiration are more concrete, often stemming from cinematography, for example. He then molds garments into an atmosphere that he himself creates around a particular piece of work. In presenting his collections, he employs performativity, which gives him the freedom to express his own vision and thus place the clothing in a broader context.
